Since I am no longer disease-ridden, we had our first playdate we've had in a long time with Ava's little friend Leo. It amazes me that at this point, their 2-month age difference means very little. Leo was always physically much more advanced than Ava -- until now! Now they are doing all of the same things. As you can see, Ava's new favorite thing is to stand without holding onto anything.
I was going to say that this point in her development is my favorite, but I will always think that/say that no matter what point she is at. Or perhaps until she hits puberty.
We spent my birthday yesterday playing at the park for quite a while, and then blowing the Target gift certificates I received from my mom and sister. I was instructed to buy things I normally would not buy, so indeed, I bought many things I have thought about buying and put back. Ava loves Target, probably because she gets a mini carton of goldfish crackers and chews on all of the items going into the cart.
Have I mentioned how totally, head-over-heels in love I am with this little one? Seriously, it makes my heart hurt. I never knew love like this before. I hate to go on and on about how much I love our little family, as I don't want to make it seem like I'm exaggerating or making it seem like my life is perfect when many other people have problems. But honestly? Our lives are pretty darn perfect. Not a day goes by that I don't think about and appreciate how fortunate I am to have all I have ever truly wanted in this world.

ReplyDeleteSweetest blog (and picture) ever.
I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI had to come look at these pictures again before I went to work. Your baby is addicting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post... I relate so much since Evan was born. I caught myself crying with happiness this morning and felt so sappy, but motherhood is really the best thing ever!
